Even numbers can be split into two equal groups like 2, 4, and 10.
Odd numbers cannot be split into two equal groups like 1, 3, 5, and 9.
4 is an even number.
7 is an odd number.
Even and odd numbers alternate, or come one after another.👇
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...
Numbers greater than 10 always have two or more digits.
Tip: The digit on the left (👈) is worth more than the digit on the right (👉).
That's why after 9 we write 10, and not 01.
Each digit has a special name. The digit on the left (👈) is called the Tens place digit.
The digit on the right (👉) is called the Ones place digit.
So how can you tell if a number over 10 is even or odd?
👉 Just look at the Ones place, or the ending digit on the right.
Numbers that end in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 are even.
Numbers that end in 1,3, 5, 7, and 9 are odd.
Now, ace the practice to make sure you got it.
