In the last lesson, you learned to identify one type of quadrilateral: rectangles.
Now, let's learn to identify another type of quadrilateral: rhombuses.
A rhombus is a quadrilateral with all 4 sides the same length.
A quadrilateral is a 4-sided polygon.
A polygon is a closed, 2-D shape with only straight lines.
To see if a shape is a rhombus, just compare the lengths of the sides. If they're all the same length, then the quadrilateral is a rhombus.
Here's a rhombus:
Let’s try identifying some rhombuses!
Is this a rhombus?
❎ This is not a rhombus because the four sides are not equal in length.
Let's try another one:
Is this a rhombus?
Yes! This is a rhombus. ✅
All four sides have the same length.
Let’s try one more. 😀
Is this a rhombus?
This quadrilateral has 4 sides, but the sides are not all equal.
This is not a rhombus. ❎
Yes!
Great work!
Now, ace the practice.
